Treasure Quest

Creating a scavenger hunt doesn’t have to be difficult and if you have younger ones, your family hunt doesn’t even have to be around town, it could be in your home or your backyard! Check out some of the ideas below on how to make this quest fun for all!

Scavenger Hunt Ideas:

  1. Find-the-item Hunt: race to find objects on a list (e.g., something red, something soft, a penny from a specific year). This is great because it can be done inside, outside, on a walk through your neighborhood – you name it!
  2. Mall Hunt: Use the stores, specific brands or items carried at stores, or even just features of the mall. Think merry-go-round, or food-court.
  3. Get To Know The City: Combine the scavenger hunt with popular destinations in your city that you’ve wanted to visit or that you want to show your family. Libraries, parks, and even favorite restaurants are all on the table.

For Extra Fun

  1. Prize: even a simple prize adds to the fun, or have a family night beforehand where you all hand-craft a trophy or pennant, etc.
  2. Teams: Split into teams to encourage friendly competition!
  3. Costumes: If your scavenger hunt is themed, this can add to the fun.
