Let’s get our mixology on, shall we? We’ll shake up those signature sippers, and stir up a whole new batch of personalized experiences that are sure to be intoxicatingly good times!
Theme and Shout
- Profilers: Pick a flavor theme as inspiration (spicy, tropical, citrusy, etc.). This will guide your ingredient choices and cocktail creations.
- Decade Decadence: Agree on a decade (think Roaring ’20s, Swinging ’60s, etc.). Research popular cocktails from that era for inspiration, then add your own modern twist.
- Ingredient challenge: Set up a “mystery ingredient” challenge. Each of you picks a surprise ingredient that the other has to incorporate into their cocktail.
The Bar is Set High
- You fancy, huh: Invest in some unique cocktail glasses (vintage coupes, tiki mugs, etc.). These can be found at vintage stores, and are usually reasonably priced. Presentation adds that little extra touch!
- Garnishes garner praise: Think herbs, dehydrated fruits, edible flowers. Make these as creative as the drinks themselves.
- Set the mood: Create a playlist that matches the vibe of your cocktails. Are they tropical and laid-back? Sultry and sophisticated?
- Snacky Boy (or girl!): Design small bites that enhance your cocktails – think salty pairings for sweet drinks, or spicy bites to go with a bold concoction.
- Judging panel: Pretend you’re on a mixology show – judge each other’s creations on taste, creativity, presentation, and name.
Shaken, Not Stirred
- “Drunken” art: After a few cocktails, loosen up and try making abstract paintings inspired by the colors and flavors of your creations.
- Cocktail journal: Keep notes on what you tried and liked. You can look back and attempt to recreate future favorites.
- Sharing is caring: Make cute recipe cards with the names of your drinks and gift them to friends for a unique present. Do they have a gathering coming up? You can craft a custom cocktail for them and the event!
